Hawk Tattoo

Tattoos are deeply personal art pieces, and as such I was deeply honored to receive a commission to design one. Communication was, of course, key to this project, as well as extensively researching how tattoo art is made to ensure the artwork was easily transferable to the skin. I ended up designing everything in Illustrator to ensure a high-quality design that could be quickly resized by the tattoo artist themselves. Additionally, I gave the client some tips on what categories of tattoo artists would be best for the specific artwork they approved (i.e., detailed linework specialists, heavy-handed and bold artists, fading/watercolor experts, etc.).

The end result, after careful communication to ensure their satisfaction, utilized a blend of semi-transparent linework and careful typography to create a noble yet light design.
