Printer's Ink Prank
For April Fool’s, me and a peer decided to play a benign prank on the UMD BookLab doctoral candidate in charge of operations. Originating as an inside joke regarding the edible look of white printer’s ink, we decided to create a can of “ink” that would instead have perfectly safe marshmallow fluff inside.
I was solely responsible for creating the label; given the extremely short turnaround time, I’m proud of the quality and authentic look I was able to achieve in just one hour! Be it mimicking ingredient labels through careful typesetting, drawing cute marshmallow characters, or writing up the jokes, my professionalism for an otherwise inconsequential joke led to an incredibly high-quality art piece. Additionally, I correctly sized the label so that it fit perfectly on the first printout and assembly attempt. I exclusively used Adobe Illustrator to create this project; the resulting photos were retouched in Adobe Photoshop.
